Challenge
When new students arrive for orientation at Wilson College, the check-in process must be as efficient as possible. In the past, the process of ID card creation took several days for Wilson College. They would take an incoming student’s photo with a 4-up Poloroid camera, cut the photo sheets into individual photos, copy the student's signature, print the ID cards, glue the photos onto the cards, and finally laminate the assembled ID cards. The assembled ID cards were then delivered to the students several days after check-in. They desperately needed a way to speed up the process.

In addition, if an ID card was lost, they had to repeat the entire process.

Solution
Since switching to Print Studio 2.0, they are able to produce a complete ID card in less than five minutes. The student’s photo is taken with a digital camera, their signature is electronically scanned, and the ID card is printed in a “While You Wait” fashion. They also appreciate the database functionality which they use to manage photos and signature images. When an ID is lost, a replacement can be printed immediately instead of having to repeat the process again.

Since switching to Print Studio they are also considering potential uses for the magnetic stripe found on the back of their ID cards.
