"Print Studio made it simple to add 2D barcodes to ID badges enabling our local employees to gain access to our handheld tracking system."

About Oregon RSMS
Oregon RSMS has been repairing and maintaining guard equipment for over 10 years, in support of the country as well as the lives of their fellow soldiers. They take extreme pride in their quality and workmanship. They repair quality products with more efficiency than otherwise available, saving the taxpayers money.
Challenge
Military Identification badges are printed for Oregon RSMS as a standard. They needed to insert bar-coded username and password information onto the back side of each badge to allow them to be used with handheld scanners and main terminals. The most important requirement was for the software to work with their current Access database of employees. It needed to be easy to use and also allow for the portability of the data. The alternative would have been creating their own proprietary piece.
Solution
By allowing Oregon RSMS to use their Access database they were able to barcode all employee badges. They were also able to insert more data than they thought with the use of the 2D barcode option and include personnel pictures stored in the system. The ease of use and simplicity of design was what really made this possible on their site, which has no real IT department. A “regular user” can manage the system effectively.
Benefits
- Include more information with 2D barcodes
