"The PCC needed an affordable, user friendly solution to centrally mail patient ID cards for multiple primary care clinics. Our team is able to quickly create with little formal training one flexible template which resolved the complexity associated with creating letters with different titles and layouts for multiple clinics and programs."

About Primary Care Coalition
The Primary Care Coalition (PCC), founded in 1993, is a private, non-profit, charitable organization, serving as an advocate for Montgomery County, Maryland residents who lack health insurance or the resources to pay for healthcare. The PCC, in partnership with Community HealthLink, a coalition of ten community based safety-net clinics, provides high quality, effective, safe and efficient care for low income, uninsured predominately
racial and ethnic minorities. Since 2005, the PCC has also administered Montgomery Cares, a public / private partnership that is tasked with providing primary and preventive health care to 40,000 low-income, uninsured county adult residents by the year 2010.
Challenge
The PCC was looking to purchase an affordable, user-friendly product with the flexibility to support the complex mailing requirements of their multiple clinics and healthcare programs. Requirements included the ability to automatically set the title, layout, subject matter and patient data in various documents as part of a a batch letter printing process that would service each of their primary care clinics.
Solution
With the help of the Jolly support team, the PCC developed Label Flow letter templates linked to their open-source electronic medical records database. One such template was designed to be fully automated, automatically updating the letter contents including:
- Setting the appropriate letter title
- Modifying the letter body with important patient-specific details
- Setting the correct clinic address
- Including patient information from the medical records database
Using Label Flow, simultaneous batch prints of more than 500 letters with matching envelopes have already been printed for several of the clinics. The PCC can now accomplish in minutes with Label Flow, what previously took hours to days when using software with traditional mail-merge functionality.
Benefits
- Increased productivity and decreased costs
- Intuitive design interface
- Advanced mail-merge functionality
- Optionally print various elements of letters based upon patient details
In Summary
"Label Flow has allowed the PCC to implement an affordable, flexible, centralized patient contact mailing program with startling increases in staff productivity. In addition, the team has found Label Flow to be intuitive to use and modifications to the letter template required to incorporate additional programs and healthcare initiatives can be accomplished in a matter of minutes," says Ms. Kajut.
